  Okay, I love this, but the instructions are horrifically.. well.. bad. I’ve had the worst time ever trying to figure out the pictures, which are really too small to help… I’m a 16 year old with really good eyesight.. and they are too tiny to see! I’m almost done with the muslin, which has luckily turned out pretty well, despite some minor mishaps. I just think the instructions could have been made better.

  I love the look of this shoot, you’re right its not what anyone would actually wear really but I love the contrast of the colour of the pants (teehee, they remind me of Gumby-legs!)and the orange background.

  ok, to clear up any confusion about the leggings you are all hating on: they were used as a styling tool to inspire you to think outside of the box. Not that you would necessarily walk down the street dressed in that outfit, but its not as boring as seeing the lovely kimono jacket with jeans. I’m glad to stir up some controversy tho’. Looking forward to reading your comments on the next pictures that are put up. Hope you enjoy… we had a great time on the shoot playing dress up!

  whoa! i think i had those pants in like 1991. but the pattern is awesome. i think it lends itself well to weird prints… i have the perfect stuff, though only 3 yds, so i’m thinking i might go for a two-tone thing w/ the sides a solid color…to show off those those nice lines

  Hi Polychromatic, the jacket closes in the front with snaps and can be pulled tighter by the little bands. Sorry you had a hard time reading the picture, we wanted to go a little bolder. The styling for the entire next shoot is a bit more conceptual and not really street. We just wanted to try something new.

  This look really cool. I agree with Polychromatin, the pattern of the fabric makes it difficult to really see the jacket. I printed it off anyway, I will probably make an attempt at it.

  I’m not sure yet if I like it or not. It’s different which is good but I think it’s not my style. Love the fabric but I wish you would have chosen a different fabric as I can’t really see anything because of the wild pattern. I also wish that model would wear some different pants, these are scary. I’m going to wait for pictures of member creations before I make up my mind about this pattern.

  Yeah … the pants … they are … mh … well, great pattern :D It’s really extravagant. The fabrics is cool, but makes it here really difficult to understand that pattern. I’m also unsure, whether it’s my style. And how do you get in? Am I right, that it is not like a jacket you can open at the front, but have to drag on like a pullover?

  Ummm, I was thinking that the side seam front and back can be
  one piece as well as the center back. The ties on both side will bring/show the waist without the need of curve side seams. I’m a big fan of minimal seams in garments now.(lazy girl)

  a great pattern! i’m already printing it. i am going to choose for a solid fabric to bring out those beautiful lines and details of the pattern.

  Congratulations Kasia! I have to say, it’s quite nice to have such a ‘different’ pattern on Burdastyle. However, if not for the line drawing, I’d have no idea at all about the construction. I’m sorry, but I don’t think much of Burdastyle’s choice of fabric here, and kallers, I’m terrified by those pants…

  It’s great to have the line drawing for this pattern. Although the sewn garment looks great, it’s impossible to see the neat details because it’s so busy.
  Looks like a really fun top!

  LOVE IT! Is it possible to make the back yoke just one piece instead of having a seam? It would be a good place to display some really pretty part of the print. Or a good place for all your mistakes to really show! ;-)

  This is the next thing I’m making, I can’t wait.

  I like the unique details on the jacket. I’m not sure if it’s quite my style, though, I’ll probably wait to see how it looks in a different fabric. Do those aqua spandex pants scare anybody else?!
