I had no idea what I wanted to make with my lovely Nani Iro, but when I saw Lunatepetal’s version of the Kimono shirt (also in nani iro), I thought that was it! I copied her in making the V neck, but I also added darts in front, so mine’s not reversible. I also lengthened mine into a dress. It’s a little baggy, but with a belt it looks great.
I did a blind hem by hand on all the edges, with a bias tape on the neckline. I love the breezy flow of the fabric—can’t wait for hot summer days to be here!

I didn’t realize this dress was from this pattern—I’ve been waiting for the right fabric to come along. Excited a-fresh!

How much fabric did you need to make the dress?

I bought 2.5 yards, and I have quite a bit leftover. I’d imagine 2 yards would be enough, depending on the length you want. (I’m 5’ 11’’, for reference.) Since it’s all one piece, you could measure from your shoulder to your desired length, then double it for the back, and know exactly how much you need!
