My white scalloped-waist skirt

Another skirt to make my days sweeter :) I wanted to try out the pattern for a scalloped-waist skirt in Gertie’s book. And since I also needed a new white skirt this is what I ended up with.

I quite enjoyed the sewing process. I think instructions were really good – as always in Gertie’s book – and the skirt game together quite quickly.

I used bias tape to for finishing the facings and am happy with the outcome.

Material Notes

White viscose fabric, polyester lining, fusible interfacing, invisible zipper and some bias tape

do you think it needs to be lined? i’ve got the pattern cut out and ready, but i did not buy lining for it; my material is in cotton (maybe is a cotton/poly) with fair body.

I underlined my skirt with viscose lining because the white fabric was too sheer to be worn alone. But I think you can manage without lining. You can always wear a half slip under the skirt anyway :) Can’t wait to see your version!

This pattern is from ’Gertie’s new book for better sewing’ by Gretchen Hirsch. The book includes also many other great patterns.
