It was a wonderfull day!
I felt very comfy in the dress and all the troubles while making it where blown away.
All in all I needed about 60 or 70 hours to make the corsage, the long skirt and the short skirt for the evening (pics will come later), the fascinator and the scarf.
I used a burda pattern for the corsage and the skirt is from burda magazine (march 2008, dress Jackie Kennedy). My sister and I modified the the skirt. On every ruffle is a pearl and on the hemline are pearls every 1,5 cm (altogether 15 meters!).
The pearls on the corsage are drafted and hand stitched.
When I told somebody that I will make my wedding dress on my own, the most peole said that I’m crazy ;).
But after all I must say I’m very statisfied, and I would do it again!
satin, cotton, tulle, pearls, headband, invisible zippers, push buttons
My sister for her help!
Kathleen for the pics!

First of all, congratulations on your wedding! And your dress is gorgeous, what a masterpiece! But in fact you and your husband are the most gorgeous thing in the picture, you look so happy! I’m looking forward to see the short version too. And I don’t think it’s crazy of you to sew your own wedding dress! It takes a lot of time of course, but I’m sure it’s so rewarding and you must have been so proud of it! I’m hoping to sew mine too one day :)

Congratulations on getting married and making and wearing a wonderful dress! It must have been a load of work, but it looks absolutely great. I don’t think you’re crazy to make your wedding dress. When my boyfriend and I get around to getting married, I plan on making my own dress (with a change for the easier dancing in the evening) as well ;)

You look amazing. And the dress i’m just lost for words it’s so beautiful. I really wanna make my own wedding dress aswell. I found the pattern i wanna use almost 10 years ago and it’s sitting in my stash waiting for the day it’s needed. I’m really only a beginner sewer and people tell me I’m crazy aswell but I can’t imagine the joy and self pride you felt when you can say you made it yourself on your wedding day. All that sweat and tears i’m sure was worth it. An amazing job you go girl.

Wow, that looks amazing, you did such a beautiful job! How did you manage to fit in making a wedding dress along with all the other organising that comes with a wedding?! I also had a shorter skirt for the evening – it made dancing soooo much easier and saved the bottom of my real dress from getting all grubby from the floor. Congratulations!
