I got inspired by the True Blue version the Benedikta gown. I wanted a corset top so I blended Butterick B5935 pattern with the benedikta ruffles. I extended the bodice to give it a cool shape and modified the skirt to transform it into a high-low version. I designed and added removable organza underskirt (in the back only) and a train. Guipure lace made a beautiful overlay for the bodice. Added mock feshwater pearls for the bodice strap attachment. Instead of lacing the corset I added rose shaped buttons on tiny elastic bands.
Love my dress, as did all my guests! I kept it on all night and danced the night away. Thank you BurdaStyle community for the info, tips and inspiration!
Crpe backed satin, a charm to work with. Non fray guipure lace allowed me to fashion cutout details on my hidden hemline (Under the ruffles).
