I’m going to a renaissance festival set in 1717 as part of a musical ensemble, and I needed to whip up a costume fast, while being somewhat authentic-looking. I think this was a nice compromise.
The shirt is thrifted. It appears to be handmade out of an old bedsheet and embroideres with flowers.
The vest is SImplicity 3618, made in red wool taken from a thrifted skirt. This was a pattern prototype, I made 6 months ago to wear at a pirate-themed birthday party. The vest is closed with hooks and eyes and have rigilene boning in the sides and side fronts, and is lined in brown linen.
I’m wearing 2 skirts, both being fairly authentic. One in limegreen linen and one in blue linen. Both skirts have slits in the sides, so I can access my pocket.
The pocket is not shown (im wearing it under both skirts), but it is a large, flat bag made of white linen, tied around my waist. It’s quite handy.
