A long time in the making, but this is my take on the 1950s Butterick 547. The fabric is most definitely not authentic for the period but the process was, including the bound buttonholes, the addition of sleeve caps and the process of totally handstitching the lining to the main fabric. There are eight flared panels to this rather full coat so you can just imagine how long that took! But well worth every hour. There was a lot of ease in the pattern and I probably could have taken out some more but it feels lovely and unrestricted and twirls brilliantly!
