My Viking Witch Overdress
Added Apr 25, 2012
Viking overdress made of 3 m wool-look-a-like cotton after the same pattern as my medieval chemise. The sleeves are shorter and wider and the hem 10 cm shorter, but everything else is the same.
The neckline and sleeve hems have simple, dark green embroidery.
It’s appropriate for both viking and early medieval. Here modelled over my medieval chemise (see more pictures elsewhere on this site), a wide leather belt, a simple black cloak (7/12 of a circle with narrow ties) and a medieval hood.
More info on my blog,
I am to wear this costume at Krigslive VIII (War LARP 8) this weekend. I will play Ingrid of the Raven Hill, a young, viking witch and the religious leader of 50 men. I will see my men draw their swords to defend the last vikings of Island agaist the Christians, led by the danish Bishop.
We are outnumbered by far and WILL lose. Big time. But at least we will look pretty while we do it.
