I’ve always been a little megalomaniac when it comes to sewing. Even as a raw beginner I never felt the urge to sew accessories. I mean – come on – who needs cell phone cozies and pillow covers? Back then I didn’t even know how to sew a straight seam but seeing all the lovely creations here on burdastyle I immediately wanted to sew a dress.
Well – surprise – the dress didn’t exactly turn out to be the perfect beginner’s project. I had to learn that lesson the hard way. So now after a few years of ignoring any tutorials on sewing bags and iphone cozies and pillow covers here it is – my first tote!
I came across the old linen fabric at a local flea market and immediately fell in love with the pattern. The bag is lined in a plaid cotton from IKEA. Although the handles turned out a little funny, I really love this tote.
