When it comes to taking photos of things I sew, I’m very VERY far from being consistent. That’s probably why you’re looking at a summer dress in the middle of November.
I sew this dress somewhere at a beginning of the spring, after watching a whole lot of New Girl. I guess I was a little bit influenced by her teacher style :)
One of my goals for this summer was to significantly reduce my fabric stash! This particular fabric I bought more than a three years ago, and I’m really glad that I finally made something out of it. I’ve had the same print in two colors, so I used green fabric for the dress and the red for pockets and undercollar.
In the end it turned out quite nice, I would say so myself :) I wore it a bunch of times and people always compliment me on, even a perfect strangers! Plus my mom totally likes it, she says it’s very “proper and decent”. I decided to take it as a positive :)
Fabric is some middle weight cotton, a dream to work with. For piping and pussy bow tie I used some green chiffon I had in my stash – not because chiffon is the best fabric choice for piping. It is (quelle surprise) NOT. I was just to lazy to go out of the house to find a proper piping.

E, hvala :) i mene je iznenadilo kako je haljina ispala na kraju, kad sam je započela nisam toliko imala konkretan plan koliko sam htela da se konačno rastosiljam materijala!

You have made such a beautiful dress from that pattern. I have used the bodice and I agree that it is a great basis for some variations. I love the surprise element of that contrasting fabric underneath the collar. I really love it, the choice of fabric, the silhouette, everything! :-)
