This is the second time I’ve used this pattern, Burda 8045 (the first time was my colourful summer dress) – except this time I made the version with tiers. It’s a great pattern – highly recommended! I’m thinking about making the third version of it too….
Both dresses started out life as halterneck dresses, but I decided to change the backs so they were crossed straps at the back (an X-strap?) so the dresses are more undergarment friendly!! All I did was sew the (ex) halter ties into the back in a cross shape, and then sew a tiny dart at the side of the bust where it gaped a little. All fixed! Great dress for a hot summer :)
This is a really light and lovely grey embroidered cotton. The bodice is lined with the cotton, but the skirt is completely unlined. Luckily the gathers in the tiers give it some opacity, so its not see-through!

I like the shape of the dress a lot. The neckline is very flattering on you.
