Description
I made this dress last springand wore it once or twice back then. For some reason I haven’t worn it since. But today I took it out of the closet, ironed it and wore it to the baptism of a young relative. And I can’t understand why I haven’t worn it more. I love it! It makes me feel very feminine.
My favorite features are the pockets and the swirly skirt. I’m very pleased that I was able to use a piece of fabric I got from my grandmother when cleaning out her fabric stash (she has a big one too, it runs in the family!). She was pleased as well that the fabric once bought for a blouse or something maybe 30 years ago finally came to good use in this way!
It was my first try on ruffles, and I really how they turned out. I was afraid that it would be too much with the ruffles on the front, but I don’t think it is.
I think this was the first project where I used my invisible zipper foot. Great investment if you’re sewing a lot of dresses and skirts. I used to always sew them by hand, and I was sceptical as to whether the result would be the same using the invisible zipper foot. But it was fine. And much quicker!
Oh, and Syockholm was very windy today, hence the, hrm, interesting hair do (especially in the last picture!).

I love your dress, very pretty. Looks like it fits you perfectly. Love that fabric, always a sucker for polka dots.
