I am all about basic righty now and this is another basic tube dress. Although most people would advise against horizontal stripes but I think it works for this type of dress and because the stripes are small. I was aiming to accentuate the positive (my shoulders) and to draw the eyes away from my hips ;)
It has very small gathers as not to add too much volume and the band at the bust has a 2 button closure ( I guess you can see that I’m not a big fan of zippers at the moment). It’s made of a cotton/lycra blend so it has some stretch and has white in seam pockets. I got this fabric years ago and only used it to make a small fabric covered gift box (see photo). I loved the fabric and I guess I didn’t want to ruin it but this dress was simple and I figured I could always recycle it if it didn’t work out. In the end…I love the dress so everything worked out fine :)
