Description

I made a hat!

The winter hasn’t officially come yet but for the last few weeks it’s been definitely feeling like it did! I’m on an archaeological excavations for over a month now and it’s been freezing cold, so I got inspired (and motivated:)) to make myself a new hat. Also, it turned out that the little town we’ve been situated in has a store with a variety of wools and knitting tools priced super reasonable, so I took it as a sign that it’s a knitting time.

The pattern is Wavy Moss Hat from Cedar Box Knits, which I found on Ravelry. You can choose from a fitted beanie, relaxed slouchy hat or simple cabled headband and I went for the second one. I added a pom pom because everything can only benefit from a pom pom or few :)

Big thank you to my dear friend Olga who took these autumny pictures :)

Damn that hat is pretty! It looks lovely on your gorgeous red hair. Great pattern and lovely colour of the wool. I’m envious, I want one like this :). Sadly, I couldn’t knit if my life depended on it :(. I’ll need a lot of practice before I make the simplest scarf, my stitches are always so uneven… weird, because I’m a good crocheter!

Thank you so much! You just keep on trying, it’s really all up to practice. The best thing about knitting is that there’s actually no mistakes – whatever you do you can always go back and correct it, how awesome is that :)

No, it’s a small town in western Serbia called Ljig. I was situated there for 6 weeks while I was on excavations, the leaves were still green when we arrived and they turned gold by the time we finished our work :)

Thank you! We’re staying at a little motel situated by the river and this promenade is right around the corner. I’ve been eying this spot for weeks, it’s the perfect autumn background :)
