Description

My sister goes to the Renaissance Fair every year and this year she said she wanted a “real” dress, so I took on this labor of love for her in exchange for a gift card to my favorite fabric store. I have yet to receive this gift card. lol

Simplicity pattern #2589

Material Notes

Yards and yards of burgundy shantung and iridescent embroidered taffeta from Joann’s upholstery section. Broadcloth for the underskirt, cream taffeta for the inner sleeve, burgundy and gold stripe material for the foresleeve, green and gold stripe material for the contrast sleeve, felt, gingham and a ton of other notions and trims.

Beautiful. Is there any boning inside the bodice? It looks tight an stiff in a very nice way.

Thank You! Yes there is some boning inside the bodice. It was my very first time boning anything. I can’t wait to use the stuff again, I want to go crazy. Lol!!

Wow, I am so jealous of your sister! Not that I’d really have anything to wear this to :P But it’s gorgeous, gorgeous!

Sorry everybody for the sideways pics. I just can’t figure out how to rotate them on Burdastyle. They are saved on my hard drive the right way, but when I uploaded them here… sideways! Go figure?
