Burda Style For people who sew
Description
For the second term of my studies, i was asked to design a street wear collection and make an outfit within the that range. I took inspiration from the movie “The Bride of Frankenstein”. The idea of modernizing a famous character’s style really excited me! The outfit consists 3 pieces, a jersey top, leather trousers, and a studded cropped jacket. Because it’s a street wear project, i wanted to play with the multifunctional idea. the top can be worn as an off-shoulder tunic by itself, or paired with the trousers, and the cropped jacket is reversible. All three pieces are lined. I hope you guys like it!

Jersey, faux leather, heavy weight cotton, printed light weight cotton, studding, snap buttons, metal zipper.

I just wanted to say as a prospective student going into fashion design, I find this piece really inspirational. Each piece complements the rest of the look: the subtle diagonals seams (or are they darts?) in the leather trousers with the zigzag pattern in the jersey, the asymmetrical jacket with opposing asymmetrical jersey, rhinestones with the gleam of the leather. This is an awesome design. You keep it complicated, yet simple. If you ever come into the LA area to display your outfits, I’ll be there. :3
