This simple roman blind is made of a rectangle piece of fabric, and special roman blind ribbons are attached to its back. The kit (without fabric) can be purchased at Ikea (includes several meters of stiff ribbon with loops every 20 cms, with cords running through it to facilitate the curtain lifting).
The ribbons run in 5 vertical lines across the curtains (visible as the non-sheer stripes). The cords are attaches at the bottom of the blind, run up through the loops in the ribbons, and then turn sidways, across the top of the blind, and are tied together at fixed distances. Pulling them together lifts the bottom of the blind.
Some sheer curtain material, stiff ribbons with loops and cords.
