Some women prefer chocolates, some prefer flowers…but I preferred to create a special dress for a romantic Valentine’s dinner. Of course, I wouldn’t mind the flowers and the chocolates :)
This dress is made of red silk taffeta and with a soft tulle insert at the bodice. The petals are made of the same taffeta, burned around the edges, and hand-stitched on the bodice. I really liked the effect on the neckline area, it looks as the petals are applied on the skin. Applied red velvet waistband.
It took me about 70 hours to complete the dress, as it was a lot of handwork.
Silk taffeta, soft tulle.

What a great dress and so special. I love how the petals look “thrown down”. You can be proud, a gorgeous dress.

Thank you so much, peipe :) I’m very happy with the result, even though I have few minor burns from the petals :))

Forgot to mention that the mannequin is a size 8-10, and the dress is size 12. So it should look ok on the right size.

Stunning and special!! The petals look like they are floating around, not attached to anything which is so cool!

Thank you :) Yes, actually now that u mentioned about the floating effect, it reminds about that scene from the film American Beauty, when the girl had flying red petals all around her. Inspiration comes from everything :)

This is gorgeous! I really love the bodice and how you constructed it with the tulle as a base for all those petals! The execution of this is really something, well done!
