The red sundress was born out of an old fantasy slash memory from my childhood summers. I wanted to feel cotton against my skin and be able to button up the dress easily over my bathing suit.
For the base I used Angela Kane’s pattern, to which I made a few changes mostly in the skirt, which I turned into a flared one and added about 5 inches on each side for the pleats.
I also added the bound buttonholes detail and did an almost invisible – “blind” hem.
