I had a love hate relationship with Purple after I used it as one of the colors for our wedding, so I kind of OD on it. So finally I am starting to love it again, as a first step I decided to make a dress =] You can see the whole story and more pics in my blog
For the top I used the Strapless Tea Length Gown pattern, but altered to be smaller and gathered in the front, for the bottom I just added the ruffles on a circle skirt I cut out of left over fabric.

I love ruffles (but I don’t really wear them) and I love your dress.

usually, I hate ruffles, they are to barbiegirly and sometimes hide a women’s curves too much. But really, you made me love them! Your dress is adorable. I would wear it for my sister’s wedding, my best friend’s wedding, christmas, new years day, my graduation, my first job interview, my birthday, my best friend’s birthday,….. any day :)

I based the top on this pattern: http://www.burdastyle.com/patterns/32011-strapless-tea-length-wedding-dress but I altered it to fit me and the way I wanted the top better, for the bottom I didn’t use a pattern tho, sorry.
