for this dress i used pattern from burda style magazine 2/2011, mod 116
i used metallic lurex fabric with sequins for upper part
and jersey (woth some sheen) for the rest of the dress
(that jersey is over 30 years old.. my mother got it as a gift back in highschool
and never made anything out of it)
..
i made the sash using same fabrics
rather then following pattern
..

I tried out this pattern yesterday and it doesn’t look at all like the one in the picture.

really? what went wrong?
mine turned out just the way i wanted it to, without a single pattern modification.. maybe you used fabric that is not right for the pattern.. or cut the wrong size?

Its beautiful! I really like how you used the sequin fabric on the top yoke of this dress. Hope you have lots of fun wearing it.

Love the drapey drapey fit. Sequins can be soooo overdone, you have them just right!

I was thinking of making this in a slinky, non-knit fabric, but was unsure how it would look, as they have recommeneded a sturdier fabric – though you are using a knit, I think the drape is comparable and I love it! Hopefully mine will be as cute and thanks for being the first!

i’m sure your dress gonna look great.. i was going for this drape look more then sturdy version, burda dress look kind of stiff, like it’s made out of paper

I love it. The sequins give it a bit of bling to dress it up. Think the visible messy hemline let’s it’s down, though, otherwise it’s fabulous :-)

thanks.. yeah, it’s even more messy then pictured, and i hate it.. but not as much as i hate hemming by hand :) might just fix that one day
