This dress is developed from an old pleated skirt that I bought from an op shop near my home some time ago. I never wore the skirt and decided to turn it into something else. Lancey dress pattern seemed to be a perfect fit, mainly because of the pleated skirt bit, that I already had. I only needed to find the right bodice fabric – the right colour that would match with the skirt. It took me a long time to find one. There was nothing similar in the local fabric stores. So I took the skirt with me when I went overseas for christmas. I did manage to find a very close match there and was able to finish the dress finally. I am pretty happy with the outcome and recommend Lancey pattern to anyone.
Ployester and a zipper (small one on the side).

What a great way to get around having to do all those pleats, good thinking! The fabric match is perfect, I’d never have guessed. I’ve had this dress on my list for a while, I’d like to give it a go soon.

You did a wonderful job matching the skirt. I would never have guessed they weren’t originally from the same fabric. This dress is really cute. I’ve been looking for a wrap-dress pattern recently, and somehow I had managed to miss this one. Thanks for the inspiration!

This is lovely, far better than the original pattern… yours is nicely fitted. I would makle this now, but didnt think the burdastyle version looked very nice.

This is fabulous! I would never have guessed you pieced it together form an already-existing skirt.

gorgeous dress!!! great job! I am not in love with the belt though – it just doesn’t look as polished as the rest of the dress – but it is just an opinion :-)
