I’ve been planning to make a Danielle dress forever and hadn’t gotten around to it.
A while ago I bought lace with the shiny blue material to make dress, but felt it was a little fancy and needed a proper occasion…
Well when my sister announced she was getting married the two projects just came together. And I sewed this dress for myself for her wedding.
I ran out of lace for the sleeves so just went with the blue material. It came out a little to puffy to my liking, but I guess it makes the dress a little fancier.
It’s the first dress I made which requires two layers, and I would do some things differently especially because i had to take it in at the waist, which really complicated the procedure…
All in all I’m pretty happy with how it turned out.

Your dress is really pretty and the colors go together really well. It reminds me of a german “Dirndl” Something for me who´s partly german.

The blue and lace look fabulous together! Working with 2 fabrics can be tricky. I usually baste the 2 fabrics together, as you would the layers of a quilt, then lay down the pattern pieces and cut out.
