Wool autumn coat with raglan cropped sleeves made a couple seasons ago. Burda Magazine 10/2007, model 101.
I’m in love with sixties look so this coat is one of my favourites. Can I say – it’s convenient? Controversial question… Because there are just a couple snap-buttons located close to the collar the hem flutters in the wind. Because of cropped sleeves I have to wear more or less matching top under it or pair it with long gloves. Adding some additional snaps or lengthening of sleeves would kill the look… and long gloves look so nice and feminine. So I made no alterations. Who cares about convenience?! I’m just enjoying my feminine impractical coat.
P.S. The hem is hand-stitched. Wristbands are removable.
Wool, lining - rayon, interlining, 4 snap buttons, faux fur.

ha i have a coat that flaps open on me like that. nothing worse that a freezing blast of new england winter wind up your coat to get your blood pumping. I was actually thinking of inserting magnets into certin spots that way the coat will stay shut and you wont lose the look. Of course i have yet to do this and now its getting warm out so i wont be wearing that coat for a bit rrrr.

I love it, but I think it could be better if it had a belt loop and a tie like a trench coat to make it fit even better!

To the contrary I like it as it is. I think the sillhouette is edgy with a hint of cool nonchalance. Nipped in at the waist, it would look ordinary and predictable. My philosophy is: why create clothes if they look predictable (read: mass-produced). This shape is perfect for your slim build.
Different strokes for different folks… :-)

I think it’s lovely. Could you slip a drapery weight into the bottom front to help keep it from flapping? Just a thought.
