Description

I wanted to make the Gertie – Malissa dress since it was posted as a creation it! (i voted for it on the competition).

Until my boyfriend’s brother announced his wedding and i got a chance to make it, yay!

Originally i wanted it in a dark red, and wanted to make it in a more formal fabric but i got some advice on using just jersey, which i did.
But it was SO hard to find nice fabrics that i like, that would look a little more formal and less sporty. And another thing was to find pretty colors.
(if you plan to visit Concepción in Chile don’t expect that it would be a chance to buy fabric =P )
So when i saw this nice purple one, i bought it without thinking twice.

It was very easy and very quick (i finished it like the day before the wedding)

I have only few pictures, but i think you get the idea.
I made it knee lenght, with overlocked “hem”, wore it with ivory-greyish shoes =S
I had the golden ¿scarf? since prom (it was in 2004!!)

And there’s my lovely boyfriend in the pictures with me =)

    Beautiful! The jersey was a great choice, it gives a nice vintage feel to the dress.

    It’s a perfect dress for such an occasion! The fabric you found (both texture- and colour-wise) is simply beautiful and you did a great job both sewing the dress and matching it with that golden scarf!
