I found this beautiful (but expensive!) corduroy and knew it would be perfect for a skirt! So I went on a mission to find that perfect pattern which I had in mind.. a full skirt with some detail… and finally I decided on Jupe Heloise! But! My French skills are very, very poor! I was inspired by member Gigette’s project… so I set out with my French dictionary and Google Translate, and I think it turned out well :) Here is the link which Gigette provided:

I love my floral french skirt :) It is perfect for our early winter weather at the moment. And I will definitely try this easy pattern again for summery skirts :)

aaahh thank you for your nice comments :) I took the pictures myself! (not the easiest thing to do – I sometimes wish I could ask someone to take nice photos of my sewing work!).. please try this skirt, I would love to see your version!!

Beautiful skirt, good job! I love the pattern, but especially the fabric! So colourful, and I think it is perfect for spring and autumn as well as in winter with warm tights.

Thank you!! I tend to buy fabric impulsively :) and then try to find patterns which will bring it to its best potential! I am a fabric addict :) I personally would have liked the skirt to be a slight bit longer.. but the fabric was slightly expensive so I just bought a meter.. a bit of a pity… but maybe I’ll add a lace border at the bottom for (some) extra length? will see… thanks for commenting!!

I love the colors. They make me wish for fall and we are in the spring season in my region.

Thank you for your comment :) I love the colours too! Normally, I am not a big fan of winter, but my latest sewing projects are making me like winter a little bit more :) Enjoy your spring weather!

Thank you! Agree! While I was making it I realised the wonderful potential for this project! I’m thinking flowy summery cottons :) Cannot wait for summer again! Although, this winter I am truly inspired by sewing projects… it is actually my first winter with enough courage for some winter sewing.. and now I cannot get enough of it :)

Gorgeous – I’m already thinking of ways I can copy this in lots of different fabrics for different seasons!
