This is the first skirt I ever saw. I am quite pleased with it. I still don’t know how to sew zippers, this skirt has an elastic waistband. As a workaround, I sew a belt around it leaving 4 inches gap to allow me to tie a bow in front, this also allows the elastic to expand so that I am able to put on and take out the skirt.

I saw something similar done in burdastyle last December. I can’t remember the exact post, but I recall something that the contributor said. She mentioned something about wanting to go out after finishing the skirt. I must say, she is right on target.

Looks really sweet! And nice idea for the waistband! But don’t be afraid: so sew zippers in is not that difficult.
