I started sewing the cowl dress pattern 116 from Burda 08/2011 but the shoulder part looked horrible on me. When my sewing teacher saw it, she was so kind to help me modifying it. Now it’s sleeveless and looks way better. Glad that she made this possible because otherwhise this would have been my personal sewing night mare ;-).

Great when a negative turns into a positive – like this dress. That’s what is so great about sewing. It never has to be finished until you’re happy with it!

Hi, your dress looks great even without the sleeves. I sewed this pattern 2 times myself, but with sleeves. I think it was easy, but you have to like it otherwise you won`t wear it. Yours looks elegant with the grey color and you can wear any kind of belt with it. Somehow like “Miss Moneypenny”-style

Dankeschön :-) I saw one of yours and the sleeves look very nice but mine looked really bad. Not so sure why…

Looks great without the sleeves, too! I kept the sleeves and it worked out fine.

I think this looks great. love what you have done with the sleeves, good job. As a matter of fact, just finished this dress myself today and my sleeves don’t look anything like the ones in the magazine. So as you can see, you are not the only one :-)) LG
