My first self drafted using Alison Dahl’s patternless skirt project instructions. Sadly I goofed when putting together the skirt. I didn’t finish reading the instructions regarding the waistband and ended up thinking they were the facings for the skirt because for some reason I thought I was making a straight skirt without a waistband. Even though the pictures on the instructions clearly shows a self faced waistband. Duhhhh!!! I also decided to put a centered zipper instead of a side zipper, because that was the only way I knew how to install a zipper (this was my second zipper install) and didn’t want to be bothered with looking up how to install a side zipper. At least the skirt looks okay as long as I don’t tuck my shirt in. The back gaps out a bit because of my mistakes. I definitely know what to do next time. Remember.. Read the instructions.

Congrats on drafting your first skirt, it looks great! I always skip ahead of instructions, then get muddled up :)
