Description

After coming across some awesome fabric, I decided it would make a great purse. I found a Simplicity pattern I liked and got busy! I lengthened the straps by 4 inches so I could wear the bag over my shoulder, and I put the interfacing on the outer fabric instead of on the lining like the pattern called for.

Material Notes

The tessellated green/brown corduroy I found on sale at walmart for $1.50 a yard! The brown satin lining was also that cheap. I used some medium-weight Pellon fusible interfacing on the backside of the corduroy.

Great job for your first bag! A bag can never be too big :) I also seem to lengthen the straps on mine too …

It’s 2750. I found it at walmart and it was only like three dollars. I was just about to add a comment asking if anyone knew what that type of print was called, but you beat me to it! Thanks :)

I love this bag; especially the ‘houndstooth’ print on the fabric. What pattern number is it?
