I finally decided to take the plunge and sew with knits. This is mostly just because I realize that with a toddler, your sewing should be extra stretchy with room to wiggle because they are constantly on the move. The skipper top from Sew Much Ado seemed simple enough and I picked out some fabrics from Girl Charlee to get me started. I heard so many complaints about tissue jersey and, although I had some pretty interlock fabrics, I went with the jersey for this top. I guess I felt like if I could make something even halfway decent with the most difficult kind of fabric to sew with, then the fear of sewing with knits would be gone. And it is! There are a couple of areas where the fabric pinched and I’m still trying to get used to some of the alternate settings on my machine, but I’m pretty happy with this top. I think my kid is too.
