Well, first non-pj pants… I’m so excited they turned out well! I created a pattern from an old pair that I knew fit me well. Then, I followed the instructions in BWOF 09-2009 for their jeans pattern (they had a special illustrated sewing course for this pair!). These are the first piece of my new wardrobe for the contest on PR. Maybe I’ll finish another piece tonight!
This was the first time I have ever made pockets, and welt pockets, and a zipper fly. Many firsts! I had some trouble with gaping in the back, even after I thought I fixed it below the waistline, the waistband itself needed adjusted big time. So, the last picture is my poor mistake. I also did flat-felled side seams, and zig-zagged all the inside raw edges (I have no serger).
pretty stretchy denim from the sale rack at joann's that I've had awhile now (but love!)

It’s actually a contest on PatternReview, where you have to make 10 pieces by Dec 1. If you’re a member, you should sign up if you think you can make them in time :) Otherwise you should at least join the site. It’s all about reviewing patterns that you’ve made and looking up the ones you’re interested in to see how people liked them.

Very nice! the fit seems good. Are the details from the ready-to-wear jeans as well?

yep! they weren’t actually jeans, they were a pair of trousers! i do have some problems with bunching when i sit down, which i realized when i wore them… i think it’s b/c the trouser fabric was so much lighter and had a better drape, so it wasn’t as bad.

They look great! I was thinking about making those pants one of my next projects. Any tips? (I’m new to using BWOF patterns)
