Here they are, my very first attempt at making jeans. I started these by taking one of my favorite pairs, trying to measure them and draw a pattern based on the measurements. As I went along, I made some more changes and added different details such as different pocket on the back and my signature groin-buckle :)
I have really learned a lot from this project, the pockets and closure are so much better than the first pants I made (this is my second pair of pants ever) and I’m sure that next one I’ll make will be better again. But the truth is, they ain’t bad at all, and are already my favorite jeans. On top of that, other people like them too :)

Great looking jeans. Loving the details and the narrow fit. Very cool. Yep, the Schmetz needles are the way to go.

What an amazing job. So happy to see that signature buckle! And I love the lining pieces inside. Did you use a regular machine and needle? I’ve not worked with denim before. Is it tricky?

I used a regular machine and denim needles. Broke 4 of them on a single button hole so yes, it is tricky ;)
However, in the end I bought needles from the ‘Schmetz’ brand in a shop in another town and those were so much better than the ones I can get in the shop close to where I live.
It’s not so easy, but it’s super rewarding. People just can’t believe that I made them myself. Good thing I sewed in my label. That buckle helps too ;)
