I made my first lingerie set! All the fabric and notions are bought as a kit from ElingerieA, enough for one bra and two panties. The bra pattern is also bought from Elingeria and it is called Pin-up Girls Classic Bra #1230, a classic bra with full band that can be made with or without underwires. The instruction booklet is really helpful and perfect for a newbie like me.
I don’t like bra with underwires or padded cups, so I choose to make mine without underwires. According to the instruction booklet, I am size 30B, which is a size that I have never found in the stores.
The finished bra fits wonderfully! Although the cups have no underwires, they have enough support and are very comfortable. The panties are also very comfortable, not to mention that they are beautiful. My husband also agrees with me that they are indeed beautiful :D
The panties pattern was bought from Merckwaerdigh at Etsy. It is called Merckwaerdigh Mix30 with bra, panties, and knickers pattern in several sizes, mine is size S.

I like your lingerie sets. I appreciate this one especially because you didn’t use underwires. I’ve seen that for the next ones you added them. Is it because this one doesn’t offer enough support? And if so, do you have any pattern recommendation that would offer enough support without underwires? I am asking because I see that you have some experience with sewing bras, and maybe you know. :) Thank you!

This pattern can be used with or without underwires but generally bra without underwires can’t give as much support as the one with underwires.
I used to feel uncomfortable wearing bra with underwires but then I found out it was because I didn’t wear the right size. All my bras after this set have underwires and and they are very comfortable :)

Beautiful! Absoloutly stunning! I’ve been dying to learn how to make my own bras for a while now. Got any other books on thetopic thatyou could recommend? Took any courses? I was thinking of getting the Bra Maker’s Manual…. Anyone have anything to say about it? Got any advice…?

I didn’t take any course actually, just read a few tutorials on the internet, especially from Sigrid (http://sewingtutorials.blogspot.com/2008/05/ling-erie.html). The pattern that I used (Pin-up Girls) for the bra also has wonderful instructions.
I’ve heard about the Bra Maker’s Manual, it seems like a good one since everyone is talking about it.
Can’t wait to see yours soon! :)

fantastic job :-) I keep meaning to start sewing my own bras… lets just say my size isn’t too easy to find in the shops either. I might try ordering a kit.

That’s really awesome! this set is feather-like in term of weigh. Must have been quite tricky to assemble.

Turned out that they are not as difficult as I have expected. The instruction from Pin-up Girls pattern is terrific :)
