My sewing machine has some big issues sewing knits. No, really, it’s not just me using the wrong needles or anything. I once took it to my sewing class and my teacher said she was surprised I could actually sew anything other than jeans or heavy wool with that thing. So, I’ve avoided knits for quite some time. However, I decided that I had learned some new tricks now, and it was time to try again. I’d had this fabric in my stash for a year and it just had to be a dress. I drafted this pattern based on my knit sloper. It’s got a polo style button band with gathers at the bust and a one piece shirt collar. I finished the hem by hand (which requires a different stitch than I’d use on a woven fabric).

I love it. Beautiful fabric and great photos too. (I think I have this type of pattern from Neue mode, but not sure if it’s for knit fabric or not)
