Well, I completed my first dress – the anda (sans elastic belt/waistband). I think it turned out better than I expected – especially as I was putting it on throughout the sewing process! I took a lot in on the sides which made it look less sack-like on me.
linen - which may have been a mistake because looking at this dress in the sunlight, you can see all the wrinkles!

This is my favorite version of the Anda. just lovely. The fit looks very nice, and the belt looks like it was made for the dress. wonderful job.

Yeah, I think I misread the pattern and cut out some the neck :) Also the dress was a little big on me so that added to the neck size. But in the end I like how it turned out – a happy mistake I guess! And yup, I just added the belt for shape. I almost always wear a belt with dresses so I knew I wouldn’t use the elastic waistband anyway.

I like the idea of anda dresses in linen…I’m not sure the anda pattern had a boatneck originally like yours, but yours really looks good!

Cool – so is that just a belt that is added to give shape? Looks great
