My new boyfriend holds a Black Tie Winter Solstice Party every year, and I took it as a reason to make a dress! I had the idea in my head that I wanted to do, found a pattern, and went to work!
I’ve never sewn anything more than a few bag/iPhone holder type deals.
I left myself very little time for this, and actually finished it the day of the party.
I didn’t even think of doing it in cotton or muslin or whatever you do a mock-up out of. I just went for it.
This was Burda 7714, but I can’t seem to find a link anywhere on here.
The dress is some kind of gunmetal-grey-ish satin type material. I’m not entirely sure what it is, other than pretty.
The colorful material is some silk that I rust/rot dyed in class last semester, and I’m totally in love with it. :)
