Description

I recently discovered my new passion for German Dirndls…. A long time ago, I downloaded a free pattern on burdastyle.com but I’m afraid, it isn’t available as a free download anymore. But I found out, that it is the same pattern like the one you can order by (the German?) catalogue. The number is 8448. The original pattern skirt was very long, so I shortened it a little et voilà – here’s my first try (the next one is already in production ;-)

I love dirndls too but they aren’t really suitable for my life in Australia. I made one for my daughter when she was younger and going to a school function dressed as her favourite fairy tale character; Gretel as in the story Hansen and Gretel. She looked so sweet. I love your dirndl and hope you get lots of pleasure from wearing it. And I am sure the next one that you are making will be just as lovely.

I love dirndls. Someday, I will have my own!

Did you use the traditional fabrics?
