It’s the fourth year now that I follow sewing classes, so this winter we had to make a jacket or coat.
Since I’m always cold in winter, I decided to make a real warm winter coat.
I took the short version of the Burda 7855 pattern.
It took me more than 4 months to finish it! So many new techniques, but I also had to adapt a lot.
I normally have size 40, but it appeared that this was really way too big!
While making the coat, I got a bit sick of the fabric, I found it quiet boring looking after a while, so I was thinking on adding flashy colored buttons or belt or … but in the end, I’m very happy I kept it simple.
It’s finished since 3 weeks and since then, I’m wearing it everyday. Even though there’s no real winter temperatures in Belgium this winter :)
I’m sure that I will wear this coat for years and since it took me so long, I think I will not make another one in the coming years :)
