I decided this year to make an advent calendar to use every year. I used to buy the paper ones (without chocolate), but those are getting harder to find. I started it a couple of weeks before December, but wasn’t quite done so I had to finish up the pouches in the first week. They were all done by the 24th! They proved to be a little more tedious than I thought. I sewed up the first few then realized that embellishing needed to be done BEFORE sewing the pouches together. Oops! It all worked out in the end. I got the idea of the felt pouches from a Martha Stewart holiday craft book I took out of the library, but hers weren’t for an advent calendar. Each day I put in a hershey kiss and a corny Christmas joke I got off the internet. It worked really well!
