I was commissioned to make this outfit to look like a dress the customer saw on a runway. We had a difficult time finding the dot fabric, but finally found a poplin at equilter.com that worked perfectly. I used horse hair braid in the hem to make it stand out as well as constructing a built in petticoat. The top is a halter button up blouse and I just made the ruffles and pinned them into place. We adjusted them in the fitting to be just how she liked it. She added her own cumberbun and away she went!
cotton poplin, horse hair braid, netting, lining

Standing ovation! This garment is absolutely gorgeous. I am sure she stood out in the crowd with such a “full of attitude” outfit. And the intricate details…. everything !!! The ruffles on the blouse are gorgeous. I imagine how much work it was to finish those hems on the ruffles. Congratulations!

I love the skirt, it’s so… “My Fair Lady” ! And the blouse is great too, although I don’t think I’d wear that much ruffles !
