I had a chance to go to Derby 136 this year and I HAD to make my outfit. Fashion is such a big part at the derby and I was excited to get tickets to a fashionable area to see all kinds of great fashions. The top is a pattern I drafted myself with a sweetheart neckline and princess seams and the skirt is a full circle skirt with waistband with buttons I added. I also added the band and bow to my derby hat. I loved my outfit and so did others :)
wonderful hat with large bow, cotton fabric, white buttons.

Love it, got something similar under the needle at the moment too! Blue and white polka dot and red detailing is classic :-)

Well, I tell you – you’ve done a fantastic job. The dress is classic and quirky at the same time and you look (and by the look on your face feel it) absolutely fabulous in it. I love the colour combination is excellent and I like how you added the same fabric to the hat. All in all you score 10/10.

Georgeous. How did you get the skirt to flare out like that? I’m trying to do a smiliar thing but not sure how to go about it.

I bought a crinoline off ebay. They are a must if you wear alot of circle or flowy skirts and dress like I do. search for them on ebay, great prices, make sure you look for vintage crinolines

What a silver lining for a cloudy & rainy day! You definitely would be a terrific costumer – actress for a Derby movie. Secretariat’s story coming out, but, maybe Calumet Farms and Citation (1948) will have a feature! Great taste, talent & style!

I love this dress! It’s like a modern twist on the 50’s (with the pocket detailing) very Monroe-esque. It really suits you too.
