My colourful dirndl

Added Aug 10, 2013

by Anjovis

Helsinki, Finland

When I first saw this ‘fashion’ fabric I just had to get it. You know what I mean… Afterwards I realized this is way too colourful and – well all over the place to be used for any office wear. Therefore I decided to make a simple dirndl out of it. The project was as fun as the fabric. I enjoyed making something this simple for a change. And I loved spending time to finishing touches.

Material Notes

Cotton with a bit of stretch, invisible zipper

I am in fabric love with this print! Where did you get it? It works really well with the pattern you chose. I am thinking curtains or artwork in a sewing room, or simple sheath dress with a interesting collar. I think this is one of those fabrics that every sewer should have something, anything, made out of. I like your style too, it really makes the print stand out even more!

Thank you! I got this fabric from a local fabric store in Helsinki. The saleswoman actually told me this is meant to be used in curtains :)
