I know, that a lot of what i show you is not gone through the sewing mashine, but some of the decorationelements (on the windows) and all the bows and the cushions and and and have been!

So here is, what i did so far to my flat! We celebrate the first of advent today in germany, and we lit the first candle on the “adventskranz” (that is a wreath with four candles). A happy first advent to all of you!

Ralf, your decorations are so beautiful! I have not spent a Christmas in Germany since I was about 10 and your photos bring back many beautiful memories, thank you. I hope you don’t mind but I am going to use some of your ideas next year. Gigi

I love all your decorations. They are beautiful. I personally love waking up to christmas decorations. I live in Australia but I grew up in Canada and I remember fondly the smell of the fresh tree every morning leading up to Christmas. Your deco’s remind me of this time as a child! In Oz we don’t have fresh trees : ( its too hot here in Queensland. But thank you for sharing your creations and reminding me of a magical time.

dear handbag lady! it is so interesting, that you mention the smell of trees. one of my strongest souvenirs of the childhood is that specific smell and it is one (if not the most important) thing, that makes christmas for me: a blend of smells and a lot of decoratins:-) thank you for your comment!

Thank you for sharing your home with us! It is beautiful. I have a similar white cross stitch table cloth that my Mom brought back from her last visit with her brothers and sisters in germany… Sterne Zähler. It’s my favorite. St. Nikolaus wird bald hier sein. Ich wünsche dir ein Frohes Weihnachten und ein glückliches gesündes neues Jahr!

Molto suggestive le tue decorazioni! Your decorations make your home very suggestive: I can feel Xmas air from your pictures… I love so much your “snowman big face” cushion: don’t you think it could match well with my “Coldy snowman”? Tanti saluti da lilla

Ralf! You’re so organized to have everything decorated already. It all looks wonderful. I can see the work that went into your decorations and appreciate your efforts. There’s so much I love here but the one thing that made me break out in a huge smile was the snowman pillow! I love whimsical creations and this one is too too cute! I felt like you when I first started posting on Burda – that everything should be sewn. But after seeing some of the projects here, I got over it. I’m glad you didn’t let it stop you or we’d all have missed out! Hope you enjoy every day of advent!

Nice atmosphere you created! Like the kranz on photo 3! Christmas is so cozy! In Holland we have first St. Nicolas (kind of santa claus) and when he is out of town the people get their Christmas trees / decorations.
