Description

I squealed (like a little underfed piglet) when I saw this fabric . I thought it looked just like a Celia Birtwell design. She is my favourite artist , and I just love the scribbly lines and palette of this fabric. The pattern is simplicity 1940s retro 1587. I am in the process of losing weight so I think this dress may fit a little better once iv shifted a bit more . It was fun to make , it has many intersting details , like the yoke section on the skirt. I would def like to make it again in a wool crepe . I think it could look very different depending on the fabric choice. Ifeel there are a couple of fit issues, though im not sure if its just a little too small. The pattern recommended an invisible zipper and just used a regular zip .I think this may be why my zip is rippling .
