Description

This is my version of the Allison. I loved the vintage cut of the pattern and thats what inspired me to use the cheeta print fabric for the bust. It was my first attempt at swimwear. In my opinion it was not that hard to make. Let me know what you think. Thnx <3

I will try to upload better pictures of it soon..

Material Notes

Lycra, leopard print nylon, lining

This is so cute, doll. Was it easy to make? I’m in Pin Up Pageant and I want to make my own.

In 1983, I made about a dozen swim suits, but back then, they were very UNstructured. I love that classic womanly look of this suit. You did a great job!!!

thanks :) use twill tape or something for the sides and elastic on the leg hems to make it easier to sew the seams without the machine totally making the fabric out of shape. at first i did it without it and i wasnt too happy :( so i re did the seams like that

u should definitely try it it was fun to make!!

That is a great idea, using the twill tape. I have wanted to make this suit from the moment I saw it. But so many people complained about the poor instructions and the difficulty in assembling it. Your version is fantastic, I really love the cheetah print at the bust.

Looks amazingly cool! I fear the swimcostume fabric when it comes to Allison, but the pattern is adorable. Good to know that you found it easy, maybe I’ll give it a go!
