Description

two of a set of eight dresses I created for Old Time Music hall.
I used original victorian patterns and drafted them myself with adaptations to make costumes for dancers.
I was inspired by the dress Julie Andrews wears in Mary Poppins for Supercalifragilistic. It can be Victorian or Edwardian with artistic licence.

Material Notes

satin, voile, zips, dress making paper/newspaper to draw patterns, buttons, thread, white sheeting cotton (i recycled some old sheets). The petticoats use a lot of fabric (around 3 metres) and The dress uses 3-4 metres of fabric as well. Also a 1/2 -1 metre of red sating for each dress. The hat is from a charity shop and covered in recycled lace curtains. so much satin ribbon I don’t remember how much I used.
