Here is my third attempt at the Jakob-Vietnamese cross men’s shirt pattern. It’s almost perfected this time. Perhaps I should just call it the Nigel (my man’s name).
I didn’t try any added extras on this one. Oh, except maybe sewing the buttons on with a bird-claw type pattern. I just love the bubbly blue-on-brown of the fabric though. The blue is raised slightly which adds a nice texture.
Now that I’ve done this three times it is just so quick to whip up. Thank goodness, because I’ve got about 5 other sets of fabric set aside for more shirts. What a lucky man!

oh, and your man is very lucky that you’re making such lovely things for him.

great job. i’m currently working on collared shirts for friends of mine who battle to find shirts that fit them. i’m really enjoying the fastidiousness of it though – i’m a real sucker for punishment.

I like the effect of the bird-claw pattern on the buttons! Great shirt – nice to see men’s stuff up here too.

Very nice shirt. To be honest, I love this material much better than the striped one, ;-) – but I still hope to see the shirt you were planning to make for him out of that same material that your “saved” blouse is made of. And you are making me feel guilty – I need to sew more for my husband, but for now only have fabrics for myself and my sister… ;-)

Thanks very much!
I’m sure your sister will be appreciative of your sewing for her too though!

You are welcome! And I know she will – she’s already thanked me a thousand times and I even don’t have her measurements yet! :-)

Very nice job on the details! Some years ago I made some jackets and shirts, and I have no trouble remembering how difficult it was, so once again: Good job!! :-) The model fits you quite well and i love the cufflinks (they’re called something like that, aren’t they? :-) )
