I made this little capelet a while back and decided to make a matching skirt for my application portfolio for FIT. The fabric is so lovely, I can’t stop feeling it! The buttons were a real find, but it’s the faux suede piping and undercolor that give this project a little something special in my mind.
The capelet is from a Simplicity pattern, and the skirt is from a Vogue pattern, neither of which I remember the numbers for.
The capelet is a woven plaid cotton flannel that looks and even feels deceptively like wool. It is lined in cotton broadcloth and has faux suede piping and undercolor. The skirt is done in faux suede with cotton flannel tabs and facing.

Ms. Sherlock Holmes indeed! Love the look of the cape with the giant button, and the tabs on the skirt. Great job!
