I made this for my sister for Christmas. I used the same pattern as I did for my first purse (Its So Easy It’s Simplicity 2750, bag B) but altered it a bit. I boxed the corners a little deeper (3 inches) to give it more of a bottom, lengthened the straps by 4 inches, gave it an inner zipper pocket on one side as well as a cell phone holder and open pocket on the other (you can hold pens in the loops pictured in the 5th photo), put a fabric-covered button on each side, and I added zipper closure to the top of the bag using two scrap pieces of fabric. It turned out really beautifully I think, and my sister loves it.
Houndstooth wool outer, brown satin lining, interfacing on the wool.

thanks guys! yes, that is a stick figure singing, lol. I don’t have a mannequin and no one would model for me so I stole the singer from my dad’s music room and made him/her do it!

Oh, this is a nice purse. I really like the alterations you made to the pattern. Very nice :) I also like the photo prop. Is the stand you are using to model the purse, a person singing? LOL! That is so cute! Singing with a fantastic handbag on the arm! Has to be a stylish female stick figure eh? I love it!
